Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh My fellow brothers and sisters, Today we stand on free and independent land. This soil we tread is the legacy of our heroes—paid for with blood, tears, and lives—who stood fearless against the colonizers. For eighty years, the Red and White flag has flown proudly in Indonesia’s skies. It stands as proof that freedom is a sacred right, a right that cannot be taken away by anyone. Yet, while we enjoy the blessings of independence, in another corner of this earth, our brothers and sisters in Palestine are still struggling to taste that same freedom. They have never known what it is like to sleep without the sound of bombs. They have never woken to a peaceful morning, for every day is a battle just to survive. Our independence in Indonesia was born from unity and the determination to stand on our own. History has taught us that freedom is never given—it is taken! And as long as there is oppression in this world, the struggle is not over. We, the people from Teko Village as the people of Indonesia, have a moral duty to keep speaking up, to support, and to pray for a fully independent Palestine. Because independence is not only the right of Indonesians—it is the right of all humankind! Brothers and sisters, Let us ignite the spirit of independence not only in our ceremonies, but in our hearts and actions. Let us stand firm, united, and proclaim the truth: Freedom for Palestine is non-negotiable!
