Welcome to my course Industrial Biotechnology. Now industrial biotechnology has two components, one is industry, another is biotechnology. Now we have, we know that there is a subject called chemical engineering. In the chemical engineering also they have a course like chemical process technology which deals with different chemical processes. And purpose of industrial biotechnology course is to deal with different biochemical processes. Now as I mentioned in the beginning that it has two components, one is industrial, another is biotechnology. First let us try to find out what do you mean by biotechnology? Again biotechnology has two components, one is bio, another is technology. Technology basically deals with that science and engineering. Science tells us why it is happening, how it is happening? And bio is related with the biological systems. So, basically that technology deals with the biological system, we call it biotechnology and industrial biotechnology is kind of application of the whatever that you know the process that we develop, that is industrial biotechnology.
