Description

Linus the Lionhearted started out in the late 1950s as a mascot for Post Heart of Oats, and later Post Crispy Critters. In the mid 1960s, he starred along with a host of other Post cereal mascots (including Sugar Bear for Post Sugar Crisp, later known as Golden Crisp) in his self-titled cartoon show. In his segments, his subjects include his friend Billy Bird, the repetitive yet annoying Mockingbird, the grouchy Sasha Grouse, and the adventurous Dinny Kangaroo. Linus even had his own balloon for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Originally voiced by Sheldon Leonard, he speaks with a New York accent.
