Belize is a small country in Central America. The capital is Belmopan, but the biggest city is Belize City. We have about four hundred and twenty thousand people. Our main language is English, but many people also talk Spanish, Creole, and Maya. Belize is known for the reef, the Blue Hole, the jungle, and the old Maya ruins. It was called British Honduras before, but we became independent in 1981. Belize has many people groups like Maya, Creole, Mestizo, Garifuna, and Mennonites too. Our money is the Belize Dollar, two for one with the U.S. dollar.
