The case of Timmothy Pitzen is still a mystery. Timmothy was a six-year-old boy from Aurora, Illinois. On May 11, 2011, his mother, Amy Fry-Pitzen, took him out of school, telling teachers there was a family emergency, but that was not true. Instead, they went on a trip together. Cameras showed them at a zoo, a water park, and in hotels, looking calm and happy. On May 14, Amy was found dead in a hotel in Rockford, Illinois. She had taken her own life. In the room, there was a note: “Timmothy is safe. He is with people who will take care of him. You will never find him.” The boy had disappeared. The police started the investigation. Amy’s car had grass and dirt from the countryside. Detectives discussed the possibilities. One said: “She must have given him to someone she trusted.”
