I’ve actually been looking into it more since you mentioned it the other day, and I’ve even been asking around. From what I’ve learned, it usually requires a formal request coming from a family member or loved one to even be considered. And even then, it’s not guaranteed—every year a large number of doctors across Europe apply, and not everyone is approved. In some cases, doctors working under the agency are only given a minimum of three trial chances per year. Even if approval is granted, there’s still a mandatory health insurance fee that the applicant has to cover before being allowed to travel.
