Good morning! I’m Giancarlos, and I work here in our family’s laundry shop in the Philippines. Every day, I start by opening the shop, turning on the washing machines, and preparing the detergents. Our machines and some of our detergents come from other countries — brands like Haier and LG. Even in a small town, our work is already connected to the global world through these imported products. --- Many of our customers have family members working abroad. Some send money for their laundry through GCash or PayMaya. These apps are part of international financial systems that make payments faster and safer. It’s amazing how globalization connects even small local businesses like ours to global technology. --- During slow hours, I use my laptop to look for new laundry techniques and tips online. I watch YouTube videos made by laundry shop owners in Japan or the United States. I also check international websites for affordable supplies or detergent prices. Through the internet, I can learn and improve without leaving my shop — that’s globalization in action.
