Barasoain Church is located at the corner of Paseo del Congreso and Antonio Bautista Streets in Malolos City. This church is one of the most important landmarks in the Philippines. It became famous because it was the site of the First Philippine Congress in 1898 and the place where the Malolos Constitution was signed in 1899. For a short time, Malolos became the capital of the First Philippine Republic and Barasoain Church became the center of government. Walking inside the church feels like stepping back in time and seeing how the fight for freedom began.
