In Teotihuacan, the gods wanted to create a new Sun. Two volunteered: *Nanahuatzin*, humble, and *Tecuciztecatl*, proud. Nanahuatzin jumped into the fire first and became the Sun. Tecuciztecatl followed and became the Moon. But the Sun didn’t move. The other gods sacrificed themselves to give it energy. This created the *Fifth Sun*, our current world, kept alive by sacrifice.
