Physical description Cassava is a tall plant that can reach up to 3 meters. It has green palmate leaves and produces long brown roots with white or yellowish flesh. Life Cycle — Seed Cassava is usually grown from stem cuttings, not from seeds. Farmers cut pieces of the stem and plant them directly into the soil. Life Cycle — Germination New shoots and roots start to grow after a few days or weeks. At this stage, the plant begins to develop underground roots.
