Artificial intelligence is no longer limited to convenience or entertainment—it has become part of modern warfare. This shift compels us, as informed individuals concerned about the future, to take a clear and responsible stance. First, we must shed light on the military use of AI technologies. Many are unaware that systems developed by major companies like Microsoft and OpenAI are being used to assist in identifying military targets. This goes far beyond traditional, civilian applications of AI. Second, it is essential that we demand transparency and accountability from tech companies. If their tools are being used in violent or rights-violating contexts, they have a moral duty to disclose that to the public. Neutrality in such matters is not an ethical option. Third, we should promote ethical and legal discussions around AI, and reject the normalization of its use in targeting civilians or supporting oppressive surveillance systems. Finally, knowledge remains our most powerful tool. We must understand how these systems work, how they are being deployed, and by whom—so that we are not passive users, but active participants in guiding AI towards justice and humanity, rather than violence and domination.
