Hi, my name is Romina , and I’m studying Educational Psychology. Today, I want to briefly summarize the article “Music Therapy in Alzheimer’s Disease: Cognitive, Psychological and Behavioral Effects” by Gómez and Gómez (2016). The article discusses how music therapy can support people with Alzheimer’s, not only on a cognitive level, but also emotionally and behaviorally. It explains that music activates different areas of the brain, helping improve memory, reduce anxiety, and enhance communication, even in the advanced stages of the disease. It also highlights that music therapy is non-invasive and improves quality of life for both patients and caregivers. This topic is directly related to two subjects I’m currently taking: Research Practice and Child Diagnosis. In Research Practice, we learn how scientific studies like this are designed and analyzed. And in Child Diagnosis, we explore how different techniques—such as music therapy—can be used in psychopedagogical interventions depending on individual needs. Thank you for watching.
