AUTO is the autopilot for the Axiom and is one of the characters in the film, WALL•E. It is designed to never abandon any of its directives. Although it seems to be a helpful source of calculator, AUTO is actually malevolent as it is programmed to follow out Shelby Forthright’s Directive A-113 and to never abandon it or any other directive, doing everything in its power to stop the Axiom from returning to Earth.
