Welcome to today’s true crime feature — a story of love, betrayal, and the long shadow of justice that refuses to be forgotten. On July 30, 1984, in the quiet German town of Aschaffenburg, a 19-year-old nursing student named Maria Köhler was brutally murdered. Her boyfriend at the time, Nazmi Gezginci, disappeared the very same day — fleeing to Turkey. He has not been seen since. The Bavarian police believe he is responsible for Maria’s death. Today, almost 41 years later, he remains a wanted man, and an international arrest warrant is still active. Nazmi Gezginci, now 66 years old, may be living under a false identity. Two photos of him — one with a mustache, one clean-shaven — are now part of an ongoing public appeal. The police are offering a reward of up to €10,000 for any information leading to his arrest. This is not just about catching a fugitive. This is about giving closure to a family. About telling Maria’s story to the end. If you have any information, no matter how small, please contact:cold-case-maria@polizei.bayern.de Or call: +49 (0) 800 101 16 11 Justice may be delayed. But it must never be denied.
