The Upanishads are a collection of ancient Sanskrit texts that form a foundational part of Hindu philosophy. They are considered the final portion of the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of Hinduism, and are therefore also known as "Vedanta" (the end of the Vedas). While there are over 200 known Upanishads, the most significant and widely studied are the 108 Upanishads listed in the Muktika Upanishad. Of these, a smaller group of a 10 are considered the Principal Upanishads (Mukhya Upanishads), which are the oldest and most influential. These include ISHA KENA KATHA PRASHNA MUNDAKA MANDUKYA TAITTEREYA AITAREYA CHANDOGYA BRIHADARANYAKA
