Okay, so this picture shows the 12 elements of a Safety Management System, or SMS. Basically, it’s a framework that keeps workplaces safe. There are 4 main components, and under each one, there are specific elements. The first one is Safety Policy and Objectives. This includes management commitment, making sure people know their safety responsibilities, assigning key safety personnel, planning for emergencies, and keeping proper safety documents. The second is Safety Risk Management. This is all about identifying hazards and assessing the risks, then finding ways to reduce or control them. The third is Safety Assurance. Here, it’s about monitoring performance, managing any changes, and always improving the system. And lastly, we have Safety Promotion. This covers training, education, and communication, so everyone is aware and prepared. So overall, these 12 elements work together to make sure safety is managed properly in any organization.
