One hot afternoon, a lion came out of his den. He was feeling very hungry and searched everywhere for food. After a long search, he found only a small hare. The lion sighed sadly and thought, ‘This hare is too small. It cannot fill my tummy.’ Just as the lion was about to kill the hare, a deer suddenly ran past. The lion’s eyes shone with greed. He said, ‘Instead of eating this small hare, let me eat the big deer!’ He let the hare go and dashed after the deer. The lion roared and ran with all his strength. But the deer was swift and soon disappeared into the forest. The lion stopped, panting heavily. His stomach growled louder than before. The deer was gone, and the hare had escaped too. The lion was left with nothing to eat. The lion sat sadly on a rock. He felt sorry for being greedy. He realized that by wanting more, he had lost everything. Moral of the story: Greed makes you lose what you already have."*
