Our roots go back centuries, when our ancestors were brought here by the Portuguese as slaves. Over time, we built our homes and our lives in this country. Baalammaa... she came from a very different Indian world. And our paths? They were meant to be parallel, never to cross." "But life had other plans. When we first met, life looked very different. She was a nun. I was a missionary brother. Two people who had dedicated everything to religious life. But somewhere in that journey, we found each other And we fell in love.”* "And that's when things got hard. Choosing each other meant stepping away from the lives we knew. We faced rejection. Our families were against it. Friends we thought we'd have forever... fell silent. It was the most difficult choice of our lives. But we held on and we stood strong. Because when you find a love that real, you have to be brave enough to fight for it."* “After leaving, I was working in Bengaluru, Baalammaa was in Dharwad. We lived apart, but our hearts were together. Our parents weren't there. Still, after a year of waiting and holding on, we went to the court and got legally married. It was just us. We started our life from scratch in a small place in Dharwad. It was humble, but it was ours."* "And then, God blessed us with our greatest joy: our daughter, Meleesha. She filled our home with a light we never knew was missing. And you know what? Her laughter... it started to heal old wounds. Slowly, our families began to soften. They saw the love we had built, and they saw Meelisha. She brought our two families together"* "With Meleesha's arrival, doors that were once closed began to open. We were finally able to have our church wedding, and soon after, we baptized Meleesha, a moment we had long prayed for. They were moments of peace, of acceptance, and of everything coming full circle."* "Today, our journey continues here in Goa. It's not a perfect life, but it's a real one.
