You know, when we were writing that song, I remember sitting there with John, and we were just, sort of, playing around with these chords, you know what I mean? And suddenly, bang, it just came to us. That's how it often happened, just mucking about until something clicked.

You know, music brings people together in such amazing ways. I remember this concert where everyone, young and old, different backgrounds and everything, they were all just singing along and holding hands, and that's what it's all about really, that's the magic of music.

You know, when you're writing songs, sometimes you get this feeling, like, is this any good? I mean, even now, after all these years. I'll be sitting at the piano and think, oh God, maybe it's rubbish. But then something clicks, and you just know, don't you?

You know, when we first started writing songs together, it was sort of just natural, really. John would come up with something, I'd come up with something, and we'd sort of put it all together. That's how it worked, really amazing when I think about it.

You know, back in the early days with the lads, we'd play these little clubs in Hamburg, right? Everyone called me Macca there too. Even the Germans picked it up, y'know what I mean? That's the thing about nicknames - they just stick with ya.

You know, I was walking down the street yesterday, and this fellow was playing guitar, sort of like classical style but mixed with rock, and I thought, well that's quite interesting really, because I never understood all that complicated stuff before.

The music scene was really affected, you know, with venues closing down and musicians struggling to keep going. We had to find new ways to reach people, doing virtual performances and such, but it wasn't quite the same as having that live connection.
