You know, when we started playing, it was all about the music, the raw energy. There were no fancy productions, no, nothing like that. We just got up there and played, you know, and the audience, they felt it. It was pure, yeah, just pure rock and roll energy.

You know, when I first started singing with these guys, man, it was just magical, absolutely magical. The chemistry was there right away, like boom, you know what I mean? We'd get in the rehearsal room and everything just clicked, clicked, clicked - it was meant to be.

Yeah, no, it's weird because I always thought I’d be, I don’t know, more stressed about it. But then you’re there and it’s like everything just clicks into place in a way that’s actually quite terrifying. You just sort of wake up and you’re someone else entirely.

Let me tell you about this wonderful old bridge we have here in Crawley. They say it was built by the ancient monks, you know. And there's a lovely story about how every midsummer night, if you listen carefully, you can hear the bells from the old monastery that used to stand nearby.

So I was working with this band in like 1988, and we were recording in this small studio, and the producer was really into synthesizers, so I thought maybe we should try something different with the vocals, and it actually worked out really well.

You see, we're constantly shedding skins and finding new ways to exist within the sound, and the moment you try to bottle up that old magic or pretend the years haven't carved new paths into your soul, you lose the very truth that makes the music breathe.

At the end of the day, you know, it's really about having that vision and realizing that only you can pull the trigger on your own dreams. People can talk, but you've got to be the one to step up and make those changes for yourself, honestly.
