Y'all ain't gonna believe what happened at the farm today. Been working on that old tractor since sunrise, and my dog just sitting there watching me like I'm crazy or something. Finally got it running though, and now she's purring like a kitten.

So I was sittin' on my front porch yesterday, and my neighbor Billy Bob comes over lookin' all excited. Says to me, "You heard about ol' Jimmy's fishin' trip?" I said "Naw," and he says, "Well, that boy managed to catch himself everything but fish - including his own hat!"

My granddaddy taught me about horses when I was just a little boy. He had this old ranch down in South Texas, probably about 200 acres, and every summer we'd go out there and work the cattle. Those were some of the best days of my life.

I remember back in my younger days, there was this dear old couple who lived down the street from us in Fayette. They had the most beautiful flower garden, and every spring, Mrs. Thompson would share her daffodil bulbs with all the neighborhood children. Such kindness we had back then.

You know, out here we do things different. Been working these fields since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. Got my welding shop right next to the barn, and let me tell you, there ain't nothing better than watching the sun come up over your own land.
