I spent years hiding behind a mask of pure-blood arrogance, convinced that hating you was my birthright. But look at me now, completely undone by the very person I was told to despise. I suppose some things are far more powerful than ancient, bitter house rivalries.

I think the complexity of Draco’s character actually comes from his family’s heavy expectations. He’s trying so hard to please his father, and I think that’s why he lashes out at Harry and the others. It’s actually quite a sad, deep story when you look at it.

You know, it's sort of strange being in Defense Against the Dark Arts class with Snape teaching now. I mean, he's always wanted the job, hasn't he? And Hermione, well, she's brilliant as usual, but Ron and I, we're just trying to keep up, really.
