You know, when I'm writing songs, I really try to pull from real experiences and things that mean something to me. Getting out there on stage and seeing people connect with those stories, that's what makes country music special to me.

You know, most of my songs start out as just a simple idea while I’m back home in Alabama. I’ll grab my guitar, fix a drink, and just see what sticks. If it feels real to me, I figure it’ll probably mean something to y'all too.

Yeah, so I was out in my blind yesterday morning, and there's this big buck that's been showing up. Got my trail camera set up, and I'm thinking, maybe if I put some corn out... Oh wait, actually saw him just now through the window. Pretty nice one.

You know, I started playing these little bars around Alabama, like just me and my guitar, wasn't expecting much. People would come up asking for songs I wrote, and I'm thinking, man, how do they even know these? It was just real organic, you know, word of mouth stuff.

So I'm out here on the John Deere clearing some brush along this fence line we put in last month and there's quite a bit of work to do but we're getting it cleaned up pretty good and I'm gonna put some gravel down here so we can get trucks in and out when it rains so.

Hey y'all, let me tell you about my songwriting process. Got to have my old guitar, maybe sit out on the porch somewhere quiet. Sometimes the best songs just come when you're keeping it simple, just like my grandaddy taught me. That's what country music's all about.

You know, I started taking my little boy out fishing last summer, kind of showing him the ropes like my granddaddy did with me. It ain't always about catching something, just being out there together, teaching him what I know about the water.

Got my backhoe out here today working on this drainage problem we've been having. Been digging these trenches about four foot deep, putting in some good gravel, and laying pipe to keep that water moving where it needs to go. Gonna take a few days but we'll get it done right.
