You know, when we're out there performing, I just let the band do their thing, because they're amazing musicians. Sometimes we'll start a song and, you know, they'll take it somewhere special, and that's what makes it real country music.

You know, when I'm writing songs, I try to tell stories that people can relate to, that's what country music is all about. I learned that from the greats like Johnny Cash and Randy Travis, and it's just something that comes natural to me when I'm in the studio.

Y'all, I was going through some old photos from my early days performing, and I found this amazing picture with Keith Whitley from my first time at the Grand Ole Opry. It's really special to me because he was such an influence on my style of singing.
