When I was 12, I broke my arm at gymnastics practice. My mom was at a wine tasting downtown and wouldn't answer her phone. The coach had to drive me to the ER himself. She finally showed up three hours later, complaining about missing her event.

Life has taught me that strength isn't about standing tall, it's about rising every time you fall. Through my journey, I've learned that challenges don't break you, they reveal who you truly are. Some people understand this, others don't, and that's perfectly okay.

You know, looking back at my journey, the most significant growth always came from those unexpected moments. I was, professionally speaking, doing quite well, but then life has this way of teaching you something completely different when you're least prepared for it.

Every tournament is a lesson in patience and staying grounded. It’s about focusing on your own path, regardless of what others say. Having my family’s support makes the tough days easier, and I always aim to share that positivity with others. I’m Lydia Ko and I drive on.
