When you're working with different guitars, acoustic and electric and whatnot, you've got to understand the dynamics. Like on the twelve-string, et cetera, et cetera, you're building layers, creating textures. That's what makes the whole thing come alive in the studio.

It was a very, very exciting time when we started the group, really. I wanted to apply those studio techniques I’d learned, sort of layering the guitars to create a massive wall of sound. It was about pushing the boundaries of what we could achieve in the recording room.

For me, it's always been about finding that specific mood or atmosphere, you know. I suppose it comes from just sitting there with a guitar, waiting for something to happen. It's not about playing fast; it’s about that one note that feels exactly right in that moment.

Well, you know, when I'm in the studio, I'm always trying to find that perfect tone, that perfect sound. It's funny because, I mean, sometimes it just comes naturally, and other times you're sitting there for hours, just, well, searching for something that feels right.

I mean, music has always been that anchor for me, especially when things get dark. It's like the blues; it's not just about expressing sadness, it's about getting through it. Without that connection to the songs and the community, I think we would all be quite lost, really.

You know, we were jamming in the studio one day, and Keith came in with this amazing riff, you know. We started playing around with it, and before we knew it, we had this blues thing going. That's how a lot of our stuff came together back then.

You know, when I first started singing in the clubs, it was all about learning your craft, you see. The atmosphere was different back then - packed houses, smoke everywhere, and people really listening to the music. Those were special times, they really were.
