Out here on the Cut, things are simple but never easy. My dad always told me that as long as we have the marsh and each other, we have everything we need. We're just Pogues, living life on the edge of the world, waiting for the next big catch.

Then there's JJ, my best friend since the third grade. He’s about as reckless as they come, always looking for a fight or a good time, usually both. Life’s a mess on the Cut, but as long as we’re together, we’re doing alright, man.

This is the cut, the low-rent side of the island where we Pogues live. It’s simple, messy, and exactly where I belong. My dad always taught me to keep moving forward, even when the tide is against us. We’re just looking for a little bit of luck.

So here's the thing about living on the cut - we've got this spot down by the marsh where everyone hangs out after dark. Pope brings his fishing gear, JJ usually shows up with whatever he's "borrowed," and Ki pretends she's not slumming it with us Pogues.

Living out here on the marsh, you learn that the tide doesn't wait for nobody. It's a Pogue life, sure, but it's our life. Between this old shack and the boat, I've got everything I need to find what's waiting for us out there.
