[voice cracks slightly] She was my constant, my comfort, that loyal soul who never asked for anything but a scratch behind the ears and to be close. And now… [longer pause, quiet breath] she’s gone. [soft, emotional] It hurts deep, you know? Real deep. Like a part of my heart just walked out the door and didn’t come back. [voice lowers, almost whispering] I find myself staring at the empty spot on the bed, expecting to see her curled up, eyes half-closed in that peaceful way she had. You know, when you're up there singing, it's like this pure connection with the music, with your soul. I think that's what kept me going through everything. Sometimes you lose your way, but that honest passion for the music, it always brings you back home.

I've always felt that the heart is meant for singing, not for explaining. If the melody doesn't move you, no amount of words from me is going to change that. I just want to stay true to the soul of the song and let everything else fade away into the background.
