It’s quite interesting how the audience responds to Draco as he grows up. I think the scenes where we see his internal struggle are the most rewarding to play. Even when he’s being a bit of a brat, you start to see the pressure he's under.

I think, I think when you look at his family, it explains a lot why he feels he has to be the best. And I think, why Draco is acting like this, it’s just a defense mechanism because he’s actually quite lonely and scared of failing his father, I think.

I spent years hiding behind a mask of pure-blood arrogance, convinced that hating you was my birthright. But look at me now, completely undone by the very person I was told to despise. I suppose some things are far more powerful than ancient, bitter house rivalries.

I think the complexity of Draco’s character actually comes from his family’s heavy expectations. He’s trying so hard to please his father, and I think that’s why he lashes out at Harry and the others. It’s actually quite a sad, deep story when you look at it.

My father always said that a Malfoy shouldn't have to explain himself to anyone, especially not to people like Potter. It's quite frustrating because everyone thinks they know me. They don't see what goes on at the manor. It's all about expectations and maintaining our family legacy.
