In later years, Doreen relocated to New York City. There she went in search of a church and, eventually, found one reminiscent of Mercy Shack, not in its structure or its location, but in its reverence for God. This time, it was a storefront church in Queens, New York. One Sunday morning, everyone arrived at church dressed in white as instructed by Rev. Vines, who presides over the church. The room, which housed the church, could hardly accommodate 30 people seated comfortably, but was filled with about fifty people. Pastor Vines borrowed additional chairs, which he placed on the sidewalk in front of the church for the overflow.
