[voice cracks slightly] She was my constant, my comfort, that loyal soul who never asked for anything but a scratch behind the ears and to be close. And now… [longer pause, quiet breath] she’s gone. You know, back in the day, like '75, '76, we were playing these little clubs in Boston, and man, you know, my family would come down and, like, watch us perform. It was crazy, you know, just living in this tiny apartment, writing songs and stuff.
