I was just putting the bags in the trunk. It was late. The lot was nearly empty. I wasn’t paying attention. I was taking my time, making sure everything was packed right. Cold stuff in one bag, heavier stuff on the bottom. You know how I am. Then I felt him. Hands—fast. One on my back, shoving me forward. The other—grabbing my dress. Hiking it up. I barely had time to react. I tried to turn, tried to push back, but he was already pressing me into the seat. My stomach hit first. I felt the cold fabric against my skin. My hips were still outside the car. My legs—dangling. He had me pinned.
