Arbi Hatala에 의해Once upon a time, there lived a poor widow with her two sons, Nino and Fito. The mother worked very hard every day to support her family. She went to the forest, collected firewood, and sometimes worked in the garden to earn money. Although she was always tired, she still tried to provide food for her children. Unfortunately, Nino and Fito were very lazy. They did not want to help their mother. They spent most of their time playing and often demanded food from her.
Not only were they lazy, but they were also spoiled and rude. When their mother could not give them what they wanted, they complained and spoke harshly to her. Their words hurt the mother deeply. She felt sad and disappointed because her sons did not respect her sacrifices. Day by day, her pain grew stronger.
One day, after hearing more harsh words from her sons, the mother could no longer bear the sadness. She walked away from her house and went into the forest. After walking for a long time, she came to a large stone near a river. The stone was known as Batu Badaong. Standing in front of the stone, the mother sang sadly,
“Batu badaong, batulah batangke,
buka mulutmu, telangkan beta.”
After she finished singing, the stone slowly opened. The mother then stepped into the stone. As soon as she entered, the stone immediately closed again and swallowed her.
Meanwhile, Nino and Fito felt hungry. They looked for their mother around the village, but they could not find her. Finally, they went into the forest and saw the large stone. They learned that their mother had been swallowed by Batu Badaong. Realizing their mistakes, they cried loudly and begged the stone to swallow them too. However, it was too late. The stone remained closed, and they could not meet their mother again. They deeply regretted their behavior and promised to change, but their mother was gone. The story teaches us to respect our parents and never hurt their feelings.
