Here is a short, simple story of the calling of Moses:
The Calling of Moses
Long ago, Moses lived in the land of Midian, herding sheep in the quiet hills. One day, as he led his flock near Mount Horeb, something strange caught his eye. A bush was on fire—flames rising bright and strong—but the bush was not burning up.
Curious, Moses walked closer.
Then a voice called his name, “Moses, Moses!”
He stopped, trembling. “Here I am,” he answered.
“Do not come any closer,” the voice said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” Moses obeyed quickly.
Then God spoke to him: “I have seen the suffering of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries. Now I am sending you to bring them out of slavery.”
Moses was shocked. “But who am I to face Pharaoh?” he asked.
God replied, “I will be with you.”
Still unsure, Moses asked, “What if the people ask me Your name?”
God said, “Tell them: I AM WHO I AM has sent you.”
To strengthen his faith, God showed him signs—his staff turned into a snake, and his hand became leprous then healed again. Moses realized this was no ordinary mission. God Himself was calling him.
Though afraid, Moses trusted God. He picked up his staff, gathered his courage, and began the journey back to Egypt—ready to lead his people to freedom, just as God had commanded.
This is for the people, this is for the spirit, this is for the light. Walking together, believing together, standing together. This is for unity, this is for strength, this is for peace. Moving forward, growing forward, blessing forward together.
