One day, I had to travel to another city, Portland, for a five-day meeting related to work. I told Emily and David about it, grabbed some of my things, and left. But just as I was about to board my flight, my boss called and said the foreign clients we were supposed to meet couldn’t make it. Bad weather had canceled all their flights, so they wouldn’t arrive this week. The meeting was rescheduled for two weeks later. Since it was canceled, I had to head back to Emily’s house.
