Episode 1: "The Janitor’s Shadow"

Theme: The unseen are often the most dangerous.
ACT 1: The Daily Grind
Scene: The Hallways of Odyssey High - Morning
The school is a masterpiece of ivory stone and gold trim. We see students arriving in luxury cars.
JACK (18, rugged, wearing a stained jumpsuit) is buffing the floors. He is invisible to the students.
JACK (V.O.)
"Most kids here worry about their GPA or their trust funds. I worry about scuff marks. My dad used to say, 'Jack, if you stay in the shadows long enough, you become one.' I'm starting to think he was right."
LUCAS (18, anxious) walks by, trailing behind JAMES (18, the "Prince"). Lucas accidentally drops a heavy textbook.
JAMES
(Without looking back)
"Pick that up, Lucas. You’re slowing us down. The Monuak ceremony starts in ten minutes."
LUCAS
(Scrambling to grab the book)
"Sorry, James. I just... I’m nervous for you. Today’s the day, right? The 'Chosen One' reveal?"
JAMES
(Smirking)
"It’s not a reveal, Lucas. It’s a coronation."
ACT 2: The Living Dead
Scene: The School Basement / Boiler Room
Jack retreats to the basement to change his cleaning supplies. He meets JOE (A zombie, mid-30s appearance, wearing a janitor's hat). Joe is currently trying to staple a piece of his shoulder back on.
JOE
"Hey, Jackie-boy. Careful with that floor wax. I slipped in the West Wing and nearly left a leg behind. Literally."
JACK
"The school is crazy today, Joe. Everyone’s talking about that book. The Monuak."
JOE
(Eyes widening, serious for once)
"That book is bad news, kid. I was around when they brought it here sixty years ago. It’s got a heartbeat. Anything with a heartbeat that doesn't have lungs is something you stay away from. Take it from a guy who’s technically a vegetable—stay in the basement."
ACT 3: The Library Incident
Scene: The Grand Library - Night
The school is empty. Jack is finishing his shift. He enters the Restricted Vault to mop. In the center, under a heavy moonlight-focussed skylight, sits The Monuak.
Jack hears a whisper. It’s not a voice; it’s a vibration in his teeth.
“...Isaac’s blood... wake up...”
JACK
(Gripping his mop)
"Who’s there? Security?"
He approaches the book. It’s glowing a faint, pulsing blue. Driven by a force he doesn't understand, Jack reaches out. The moment his fingertip touches the silver-bound cover:
THE EVENT:
A Scream rips through the room—not from Jack, but from the book itself. A shockwave of silver energy blasts outward. Jack is thrown thirty feet back into a bookshelf. The Monuak flies open, its pages turning at 100mph.
ALFRED (The Professor) and PRINCIPAL LURNA burst in, having felt the magical spike. They see Jack on the floor, his eyes glowing a terrifying, bright silver.
LURNA
(Whispering, horrified)
"It’s impossible. He’s a nobody. A street-wolf."
ALFRED
(Eyes gleaming with a dark hunger)
"No, Lurna. He’s the one. The Monuak didn't just wake up... it recognized its master."
ACT 4: The Raven’s Vision
Scene: The Courtyard - Night
CLORRY is sitting on a stone fountain, surrounded by black ravens. She looks up at the library windows, which are still glowing silver.
CLORRY
(To a raven on her arm)
"The janitor just broke the world, didn't he? I can smell it. The scent of a thousand-year-old regret. The 'Good Brother' is calling... and the 'Bad Brother' is starting to dig his way out of the dirt."
ACT 5: The Hook
Scene: Principal Lurna’s Office
Jack is sitting in a chair, shaking. Alfred is pacing around him like a predator.
JACK
"I didn't mean to touch it. I’ll leave. I’ll quit. Just don't call the police."
ALFRED
"Quit? Jack, you don't understand. You’ve just done what no one in the 'Golden Bloodlines' could do for ten centuries. You opened the First Seal of Elijah."
LURNA
(Coldly)
"Starting tomorrow, you aren't a janitor. You are a student of the Elite Class. You will stay where we can see you."
JACK
"And if I say no?"
ALFRED
(Leaning in close)
"Then the power you just swallowed will burn you from the inside out. We are the only ones who can teach you how to survive being a God, Jack."
FADE TO BLACK.
