Hey y'all, just wanted to give you a quick update on my recovery. The doctors say I'm making good progress, but I still need two more weeks of rest. I'm sorry about the canceled shows, but we're working on getting everything rescheduled for you guys.

I remember them training days at Fort Benning. We was jumping every chance we got, and them sergeants was tough on us. But that's what made us good paratroopers. When you're up there in that plane with your buddies, you ain't thinking about being scared, you just doing what you was trained to do.

I remember back in my younger days, there was this dear old couple who lived down the street from us in Fayette. They had the most beautiful flower garden, and every spring, Mrs. Thompson would share her daffodil bulbs with all the neighborhood children. Such kindness we had back then.

I ain't special, ma. Just trying to help these boys best I can. Figure if I can patch 'em up, get 'em back to their families... that's worth something. Don't need no gun to serve, just these two hands and my faith.

Saw this fella down by the creek yesterday. He was carrying some old tools, bunch of them things. Gave me a rusty wrench, said it was special. Put it in my shed where them other ones are. Funny how that happens.
