Subject: Request for Support and Endorsement – Agbajelola Project
Dear Alhaji SK Sensation and Respected Members of the Committee,
Warmest greetings to you all.
I write to formally express my heartfelt appreciation for the warm reception and fatherly encouragement I received during my recent visit to the FUMAN National Headquarters. The experience left a lasting impression, and it further affirmed my conviction that the vision behind my project, Agbajelola, is not only timely but deeply aligned with the noble mission of your esteemed association.
Agbajelola is a play-text project crafted with deep reverence for the Fuji music genre and in honour of its legendary creator, Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister MFR. The project seeks to preserve and promote the rich cultural and musical legacy he birthed — one that continues to resonate with generations past, present, and those to come.
To bring this vision to life in a way that reflects its true weight and significance, I respectfully seek FUMAN’s support in the following areas:
1. An official letter of endorsement and support for the Agbajelola project from the National body. This endorsement will not only validate the work but also empower its journey across cultural and academic spaces.
2. I intend to launch this project in a grand and culturally rich manner, and it would be a great honour to have prominent FUMAN members grace the occasion. Their presence would lend prestige and visibility, and it would send a strong message to the public about the importance of this work.
3. As part of our long-term impact plan, we aim to donate copies of Agbajelola to Theatre Arts Departments across Nigerian universities. In exchange, these institutions will stage performances of the play, the recordings of which will be shared with FUMAN for proper archiving and documentation. We believe this effort will spark scholarly interest, encourage academic reference, and may ultimately lead to the integration of the play into academic curricula nationwide.
This is more than a project — it is a cultural movement to ensure Fuji music is rightfully preserved, studied, performed, and celebrated as a vital part of our national identity. With FUMAN’s backing, we believe Agbajelola can become a cornerstone in the global recognition of Fuji as a scholarly and artistic subject.
