Then came that hat, that tall red hat, just floating down the street! It bobbed and bounced and spun around, then danced right past my feet. I rubbed my eyes and looked again, but would you believe my luck? That silly hat just winked at me, then jumped aboard a truck!

When Sarah, my daughter-in-law, demanded half my retirement savings for their new business venture, I just smiled and nodded. What she didn't know was I'd already transferred everything to a trust fund for my grandchildren's education. Sometimes silence is the best response.
