My parents always told me that I slept most of the day and that I rarely cried. The first word I said was “dad”, and that made my father very happy. I learned to walk when I was 2 years old, and my family celebrated it as one of my first achievements. At the age of 4, I entered Ángela Alcázar Ríos kindergarten. I made my first friends there. I liked going to kindergarten because I played with my classmates, painted, and did crafts. My teachers told me that I was very creative.
When I was 6 years old, I started elementary school at Salvador Allende. At the beginning, I was nervous because it was a new experience, but soon I made friends and we shared many adventures. My favorite subjects were math and art. During this time, I liked to play soccer almost every day. My favorite player was “Chicharito”, and my favorite team was Chivas. This was my favorite team because it was one of the biggest in Mexico and also because of my dad, who always supported them. Watching games with him was one of my favorite activities.
When I was 8 years old, I played soccer in a children’s team called UDIF. I learned many things there and I made many friends. I was usually a defender, but sometimes I was the goalkeeper because of my height. At that time, I also started watching European soccer. That was when I discovered Cristiano Ronaldo. He was my idol because I admired his goals, discipline, and celebrations. I even copied his famous haircut.
When I was 11 years old, I stopped playing soccer because I couldn’t travel to the tournaments, but my passion for the sport never ended. Later, I started swimming at Acuática Tiburones. Swimming helped me improve my physical condition and I enjoyed competing with other kids. I felt proud when I won small races because it showed me that discipline and training give good results.
That same year, I started working with a music group called Colorado Naranjo, where my dad played the drums. There I discovered my passion for music and percussion. In this job, I learned discipline, teamwork, and respect. My first salary was 300 pesos, and I bought a Star Wars Lego and a soccer shirt. That moment was very special because it taught me the value of money.
When I was 13, my parents gave me a new cell phone and took me to eat seafood for my birthday. That year, I practiced a sport called handball. I liked it because it was very physical, and it helped me develop agility, coordination, and aim. I also joined school events where I played sports and met more people.
I remember that during this age I was a chubby child, since I didn't do physical activities and I really liked junk food, that's why I got into handball.
During this stage, I entered secondary school at Enriqueta Corona Morfín. There I met Kenia, who was my first girlfriend. It was a new experience, and I experienced feelings and situations I hadn’t known before. I also met one of my best friends, and we laughed a lot together in class, making jokes about everything. Some teachers were strict, but others were very kind and supported me when I needed help.
When I was 15, I took the admission exam for high school. At first, I studied at Bachillerato 2, but after two semesters, I changed to Bachillerato 4 because I wanted to study in the morning. At the beginning, it was difficult because it was more demanding, but little by little I adapted and I improved my grades. At that time, I discovered the gym thanks to a friend. I liked it a lot because it made me feel stronger, healthier, and more confident.
Now I am 17 years old. I am studying the fifth semester of high school, and I want to graduate with an excellent average. I'm still not sure what I want to study, because I would like to pursue a career in medicine, although I also like the idea of being a musician in a musical group and playing the drums like my dad.
In the future, I would like to go to university and study a career that allows me to help my family and be successful. I also dream of traveling to Europe, visiting the stadiums of famous soccer teams, and maybe even attending a live concert of my favorite musicians.
