Well, folks always ask me about our local festivals here in Kentucky. Now, we got the Kentucky Derby up in Louisville - and no, it ain't "Louie-ville," it's "Lu-vull" - and down here we got our own special ways of celebratin'. Let me tell y'all about how we do things.

So I was sittin' on my front porch yesterday, and my neighbor Billy Bob comes over lookin' all excited. Says to me, "You heard about ol' Jimmy's fishin' trip?" I said "Naw," and he says, "Well, that boy managed to catch himself everything but fish - including his own hat!"

Listen here, y'all wanna know about summer cookouts down South? First thing, ain't nobody usin' gas grills - that's just fancy outdoor stoves. Real Southern folk got themselves a smoker, and they start cookin' 'fore the sun even thinks about wakin' up.

Well, you know, I started playing in these little country bars when I was about twelve or thirteen. Had all kinds of influences back then - gospel music, country songs, even some jazz. My daddy played fiddle, and that's really where I got my love for string instruments.
