I still can't shake off the feeling of being watched after what happened to my friend chioma................................. It's been 5 years since chioma, a 12-year-old school girl, went missing in our village. We were in the same class, and she was always quiet and kept to herself. One day, while walking home from school, she vanished....................................... The villagers searched everywhere, but there was no sign of her. Some said they saw her talking to a strange woman in a white wrapper near the old baobab tree. Others claimed to have heard whispers in the wind, calling out chioma's name.......................................... I didn't think much of it until I started experiencing strange occurrences. I'd find my books and pencils arranged in strange patterns on my desk. I'd hear faint whispers in my ear when I was alone. And then, I started seeing chioma everywhere.................................. At first, I thought it was just my imagination, but then I realized that others were seeing her too. She'd appear in the corners of our classrooms, in the market, and even in our homes. Always watching, never speaking....................................... One night, I woke up to find chioma standing in my bedroom doorway. Her eyes were black as coal, and her skin was pale and dry. I tried to scream, but my voice was stuck in my throat......................................... The next morning, I told my parents and the villagers what I saw. They just looked at me with fear in their eyes and told me to stay away from the old baobab tree.......................................... I never saw chioma again, but the whispers continued. Some say she's still out there, watching and waiting. Others say she was taken by the spirits of the land............................................. I don't know what to believe, but I know one thing - I'll never forget the feeling of being watched by chioma's black eyes.
