So, what even is Sustainable Farming?
Basically, it’s producing food from animals—meat, milk, eggs—without messing up the environment and taking good care of the animals.
We learn a bit of everything: animal nutrition, genetics, pasture management, water use, climate impact… literally how to make farms work better and cleaner.
It’s like mixing science, animals and nature but in a way that actually makes sense for the future.
Why did I choose this career?
Ok, let’s start with the pros
Pro 1: It’s super important right now. With climate change and all the chaos in the world, agriculture needs to change ASAP. And I like the idea of being part of that change.
Pro 2: It’s super varied. One day you’re in the field, another day you’re learning about ecosystems or tech, and another day you’re working with animals. It’s not a boring, one-path career.
Pro 3: You can work in so many areas—farms, research, NGOs, environmental projects, rural communities… you name it.
Now, the cons.
Working with animals can be tiring. Weather doesn’t care about your schedule. Sometimes things just go wrong. And yeah… convincing people to change “how we’ve always done things” can be interesting.
Even with that, I honestly find this career super interesting.
I love that it’s not just theory—you actually get to help farms be more efficient, more humane, and more eco-friendly. It’s a career where what you learn matters in real life.
And for me, that’s huge. I want to do something that has impact real, not just look nice on paper.
So yeah… that’s why I’m studying Sustainable Farming. Thanks for watching!
