The Annual Refresher’s Training Programme on ICS and EARAS of the Central Range districts was held on 13th August 2025 at 10 AM in the Conference Hall of the Office of the Joint Director (Statistics) Central Range, Cuttack. The training was inaugurated with the lighting of a lamp at the lotus feet of Lord Jagannath in presence of the Joint Director, DE&S, Bhubaneswar, in presence of Sri Tapan Mishra, Assistant Director,NSSO, Cuttack & Joint Director (Statistics) Central Range, Cuttack. At the outset, the Joint Director (Statistics), Central Range, Cuttack welcomed all the participants and explained about the purpose of the training programme and explained the importance of qualitative data relating to agricultural statistics in the state like Odisha. Joint Director, DE&S, Odisha briefed the important issues & guidelines under ICS & appreciated SFSs for coordinating with supervisor staffs of NSSO in connection with timely conduct of survey & supervision work of Central samples under ICS. He advised the field staffs to continue the same sprit & Coordination in the coming year. The Asst. Director and Senior Statistical Officer of NSSO imparted the training on ICS by illustrating the datelines of activities and methodologies of commencement and completion of field work relating to LUS by the primary workers and supervision of C.C. Experiments by the supervisors for three seasons viz. Autumn, Winter and Summer. The Assistant Director , (ASD) DES, explained the procedure of selection of cluster plots and discussed about the critical points of ICS programme. The main purpose of supervision by the supervisory staffs particularly for the ICS villages is that to locate the deficiencies and suggest corrective measures as discussed in the meeting. The Asst. Director of NSSO, during the discussion briefly discussed the sample check in area enumeration (Sch-1.0), Supervision of crop cutting experiments CCEs (Sch-2.0) and sample check on transcription and totaling (Sch-1.1). He also described in details about filling up the schedules. All the participants were requested to follow the guidelines as well as the datelines of ICS meticulously. In the afternoon session, a review meeting on ICS/EARAS/PMFBY was held under the chairmanship of Joint Director, DE&S, Bhubaneswar & J.D. C,R, Cuttack. Asst. Director, DE&S, Odisha reviewed the pending position of schedules under ICS/EARAS/PMFBY. He highlighted the errors in filled-in- schedules under ICS. J.D. CR, advised DD, DPMUs to ensure timely submission of schedules under different schemes implemented by DPMUs. At last the Joint Director (Statistics) emphasized upon the field officials as well as the supervisory staffs to focus on the qualitative data collection from the field as a result of which the collected data of our department would be useful for planning formulation & policy decision.
