And when you're creating something, if you're constantly looking over your shoulder for approval, then what you're making isn't really yours anymore. It's like, your truth gets diluted by everyone else's expectations, and then where's the adventure in that?

I worked at this convenience store for a while back in high school. Actually, calling it a convenience store is pretty generous. It was more like a glorified shed with a cash register and some expired snacks. Not exactly the highlight of my teenage years.

I want to share something about my old teacher Mike, who really shaped my understanding of music back in those early days. He showed me things about rhythm and timing that I still carry with me today. I spent countless hours in his studio, just watching and learning.

You know it's like when I first got out I was trying to figure everything out and people were like you should do this you should do that but honestly I just needed time to process everything and like find my own path without all the noise and stuff.

Back in '89, I think, I learned to fly a small plane in Arizona. This guy had a Cessna, pretty basic stuff, and I just asked him to teach me. You know, when you're young, you just jump into these things without thinking too much.

You know, I might do some shows here and there, maybe check out some different venues. If something cool comes up, I'll probably give it a shot. Like, there's this great event coming up, and that could be fun, so we'll see what happens.

I’m just so happy I got to work with Mark and Jenny and the production team on this project. I’m truly thankful for the support everyone showed me, I really am, and I hope we meet again down the road on something new, I guess so.

I think people often ask me about working solo versus being part of a team. It's interesting, you know, because it's like comparing apples and oranges, though I suppose both are fruits, so maybe that's not the best example. But you get what I mean.
