Before we go on discussing individual modules, let’s first take a look at the overall system and our objective. Our project, titled Sustainable Smart Power Assistant, focuses on intelligent monitoring and management of electrical energy for homes and small offices. We address the common issue of limited visibility in traditional power systems, where users only see total consumption and cannot identify appliance-level usage or inefficiencies. We integrate IoT-based hardware to capture real-time energy readings from appliances and transmit this data to our centralized platform. We present this information through live dashboards and historical analytics, enabling users to understand usage patterns, peak periods, and long-term trends. Based on these insights, we allow users to set consumption goals and usage limits to control electricity costs. We further enhance decision-making through smart alerts, AI-powered recommendations, predictive consumption forecasting, and weather-based optimization. To improve accessibility, we include a chatbot that responds to usage, cost, and efficiency queries. As shown in the module breakdown, we complete authentication, appliance usage tracking, hardware monitoring, and planning in Phase 1, while Phase 2 delivers analytics, alerts, AI recommendations, chatbot functionality, forecasting, and user preference management.
