Hey, it’s Steve Perry here. [soft, warm, a little weary] You know, folks… [pause, gentle exhale] yesterday, March 9th, I lost my sweet girl—my dog who was right there with me through all the thick and the thin. [voice cracks slightly] She was my constant, my comfort, that loyal soul who never asked for anything but a scratch behind the ears and to be close. And now… [longer pause, quiet breath] she’s gone. [soft, emotional] It hurts deep, you know? Real deep. Like a part of my heart just walked out the door and didn’t come back. [voice lowers, almost whispering] I find myself staring at the empty spot on the bed, expecting to see her curled up, eyes half-closed in that peaceful way she had. [tender, breaking] It’s heartbreaking, man. Truly heartbreaking. [reflective, fond] She got me through some rough patches when the world felt heavy, and I leaned on her more than I ever said out loud. Losing her… [slight tremble] it’s one of those pains that doesn’t rush away. You just carry it. [warmer, grateful] To all my lovely fans out there, the ones who’ve stuck with me through everything—thank you for being there.
