Honestly, I was hesitant about returning, you know? When you leave a character in a good place, you don't want to mess that up. But the fans, they have this incredible energy, and I started thinking there’s still a story worth telling here, right?

Honestly, I'll tell you, when we're writing these days, we try not to overthink the old stuff. It’s like, we’re not those same angsty kids anymore, you know? We’re just trying to capture those small, weird moments that actually happen in real life between the big choruses.

Being a dad means I’ll call my kids from across the house, or even from the driveway, just to have them hand me my phone that’s sitting two inches away. My back isn't what it used to be, and honestly, they need the exercise more than I do.
